COMPETITION RULES 1. Each organisation will register all their players who must have a recognised handicap using the USGA system. Each organisation must nominate a team captain and a handicapping secretary who will be responsible for the correct application of handicaps and will resolve disputes arising from handicaps.2. The winner of the competition, and the PWC Trophy, will be the team with the most match points at the end of the season. In the event of two or more teams having the same total number of points, the winning team will be the team who has the most game points. If there is still a tie, the winner will be the team with the most winning games. 3. Points will be awarded on the following basis. 4. At the beginning of the season, i.e. before the first match, the club captain will submit the names of all possible team players, on the player registration form, to the organiser, along with current handicaps. Each player may only be registered for one club during the season and where it has been found that players have been entered for more than one team, the captains of each team will be advised in order that the player may be deleted from one team. Players who play two games or more for one club will not be allowed to register or play competitively for another club for that season. New players may be added to the list of players at any time and may represent that club after a waiting period of one month, otherwise a two-stroke penalty will be applied to their handicap on their first representative game. Captains will be responsible for handicaps for all their players. 5. Each team will consist of 8 players, there being two doubles and four singles matches. Prior to playing the monthly matches, team captains will enter their team's players on the "Team list and score sheet". This will form the pairings of the day's matches and once exchanged with opposing captains, team orders may not be changed Players will be entered on the team sheet according to the numbering as shown on the team sheet. If a captain is playing a scratch player in his team, he must inform the opposing captain of the game in which that person is playing before the start of the match.6. Matches will be played over 18 holes in a match play format and the rules of match play will apply. No drop zones. 3/4 handicaps of the difference in handicaps will be used. The maximum handicap for men is 28, ladies 36 strokes. Where a player has a recognised handicap with more than one organisation, the player should use the lower handicap, or the most current. For match handicap purposes all players will stroke off the lowest player. 7. Each team will play all others in the league in one season on a monthly basis, according to the fixture list produced by the organiser on the third Saturday of each month, and fixtures will commence in January. T-off times will be circulated to all clubs prior to the start of the league. Any disputes will be settled on the day of the event by the majority decision of the club captains. |
