'Beef' earns PGA Tour card for next season

Andrew Johnston, the 27-year-old jovial Englishman with the unplayable-lie beard, the unflappable demeanor and – oh, yes, a pretty decent game – will have a PGA Tour card for next season.
Johnston closed with a 68 on Sunday – appropriately, National Cheeseburger Day – in the Albertsons Boise Open, good for a fourth-place finish and sufficient earnings in the Web.com Tour Finals to secure his card. He made $48,000 for his Boise finish, and earned $6,910 in the first Finals event for a total of $54,910. The top 25 money-earners in the Finals get PGA Tour cards; in the last three years, No. 25 has earned between $32,000 and $37,000.
