  Golf Course

Wangjuntr Golf Park

General Information

Description 1.30 hours east of Bangkok, Wangjuntr Golf Park is reputably the most challenging and stunning golf course in Thailand. The unique of WGP is, not only the pristine landscape that fits for the perfect game of golf, but also the outstanding design that corresponds to the championship courses of European and US PGA Tours. While the first nine holes are surrounded by numerous tall rubber trees, the back nine holes are grounded by the In-Land mountain atmosphere. Overall, WGP drawns together a variety of remarkable designs : wide, narrow, left-right doglegs, inclining and declining fairways; huge and tiny water hazards, locating in front, on the sides, and at the back of T-offs/Fairways/Greens; deep, shallow, short and long bunkers; spacious, speedy and sloping greens. The golf course itself is also an opened zoo, where animals naturally reside by their own habitats.

By uniting all possibilities and accessibilities, required for a World Class golf course, Wangjuntr Golf Park is the only place that golfers will enjoy a new era of golf, and that golfers will remember a superior distinction from other golf courses around the world.

We (4balls) played the Highlands Course on Sunday 13 Sept 09. The views, nature and topography were wonderful and stand out over any course I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the course is a little ridiculous for regular golfers. Water hazards, rock formations and sand traps in the middle of a putting green just doesn't make sense. These greens (and there are many) reminded my group and I of "goofy golf". Conversely, some of the holes were excellent and quite enjoyable to play, even if they were 620++ yards long. I recommend this course if you want to test your precision ball placement or if you want to "entertain" a fellow golfer. Don't take this course too seriously. Sadly, the caddies were poorly trained and don't quite understand the function (not how to golf) of a caddies role. We had fun, but wont be going back.

Again another course taking the piss with prices, its 1.5 hours from BKK who's going to drive that far and pay over 2000 baht for a round... I agree with the previous comments, some of the holes are stupid, i mean who puts a bunker in the middle of the green?

Absolutely unforgetable! Anyway, caddies should be seriously improved because they currently know nothing except a way to next holes and serving as bag carriers.

Absolutely unforgetable! I played Highland course which's very fantastic ! However, there were some points that should be improved. If I were Top manangement here, the first thing I would do is change caddies because they are useless except bag carrier. They know nothing except how to go next hole!!!!!! So sad Anyway, I promise meyself I will be back here to play other courses; Valley course and Jungle course, for sure.

Recently played the valley course at the weekend: a) Started on time b) Only 2 drinks stops on the course but they don't tell you that. c) Groups stop at the 10th hole to eat their bowl of free noodles and if you don't stop, you will have to wait d) followed many groups of 6 balls who were absolute beginners e) greens and fairways were in poor condition f) 5.5 hour round for a 4 ball g) Hotel rooms were good and the food in the restaurant was good. Will I be going back? - I doubt it. Also, they have a dual pricing policy and seem to be proud of it.. you decide

Played in February 2008 and selected course based on the high rating it received from ThaiGolfer. It was the first and last time I went there as there are much better alternatives closer to home. Caddies are useless and bag carriers. Cart cost is very high and facilities are not up to standard. So, don't trust everything you read in the web page.

We played highland course on 25NOV. We love this tough course but we were waiting too much due to very slow palyer. I think it should be allowed the cart go in to fairway otherwise it takes 3 hours per 9 hole in weekend. Caddies need to be trained as well.

An unforgettable course!!! MUST play... We played Highland course on 18th Sept, very beautiful scenery. It is a very difficult course, uphill (maybe need to hit 5 floor high to on green if regulation on, they call it stairway to Haven), downhill, many approaching shots need to be over wide water. Green is very large and similar to potato chip, difficult to put if ball near fringe) very Chanllenge!! Our caddies are so green, without proper traning, however, their attitude is very good and learn fast. Definitely will come again!

The description needs updating to explain the difference between the two courses now operating at WJGP. The original Valley Course and the new Highland Course. Both are excellent. My comments are for the Highland Course. Marvellous layout, very challenging, a must for serious golfers.

One of the most difficult course in Thailand! I played the old course that had been adjusted for a group of junior national golfer qualifying round so the tee-off and pin were quite tough. The signature hole (14th) is very interesting (must try). The caddy was as friendly as anywhere else but her accuracy on green was not up-to-the-expectation comparing with other mountain course's such as Khoa-cha-ngok. The speed of play was very fast for my group 'cause we started on the back nine. The food ᡧÊéÁ¡Øé§ was very o-i-chi. Playing during the rainy season we got a reasonable price (you got to have some discount coupons or stayed overnight ). Another ought-to-play course for Thai golfers.

Amazingly eccentric greens the only good feature unfortunately. Each hole has two greens. Not particularly challenging off the tee; some holes very difficult when playign forst time; hole maps not accurate or always understandable and caddies unhelpful but friendly. Not worth the drive unless you want a putting challenge.

I played on 24 Oct '05 (Sun). There was a promotion, a total of approx. 1,600 THB per person includeing one cart for two players, breakfast, food and drinks at tea houses. Green is very fast and high undulated. It's so tough. All holes have two greens. They are enough separated, so it seems to be a 36 hole course. I heard that additional 18 holes will be available soon, then it'll be a real 36 holes golf course. Caddy is well trained, but it may just depends on who. I like to vist again and to try another green layout (Left: Saturday, Right: Sunday).

PLAY ON 27/03/05. This course is great, lay out is so tough, I enjoyed playing very much even my score is a bit higher than my average. Hold no.2 you have to tee off on the cliff into the valley and then approach to the 3rd floor green. THE CADDIES here is a school student. I'M REALLY APPRECIATED TO SEE SUCH A GOOD SUPPORT FOR THE LOCAL KIDS TO HAVE CHANCE TO PLAY GOLF AND FIND SOME EXTRA MONEY ON WEEKEND. You all should try this course, strongly recommended.

Played on a Saturday, outward nine greens and fairways are not great, back nine is much better condition. Interesting layout with some very challenging holes. Caddies were amongst the worst in Thailand, did not clean clubs and were always 50yds behaind the play. Clubhouse quality is poor. Very scenic course though.

Oh well ! This course is extremely difficult, but I enjoyed playing all 18 holes. I could not hold my laugh out lould because some of the putts from golfers in my group could not put even closer to holes on 5th and 16th. They just quit putting and picked up the ball and walk to next hole. Tremendous elevated and tilted slope on many greens, and golf ball would not stay on green. If you approach the hole on the wrong part of the green, more than 3 putts are guaranteed. Out of 6 people in our group, there were some pars and only 2 birdies. Try this golf course it's a thrill and a pleasure to play.

Caddies are very young and friendly but with somewhat limited knowledge of English, but this is to be expected at any Thai golf course. Clubhouse facilities need to improve but the golf course is not yet open to the public, so this is understandable. Fairways are very well done with "fairway-size" greens to match. This may be Thailand's most difficult course, so prepare well....

NOT OFFICIALY OPEN YET AS THE FAIRWAYS ATTEST,BUT THE FOUNDATIONS ARE THERE FOR A TRULY BEAUTIFUL GOLFING EXPERIANCE. IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN IF THE MANAGEMENT CARRY ON WITH THEIR PROMISE OF PROVIDING A TRULY INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GOLFCOURSE. ONLY TIME WILL TELL. ONE HOPES THAT THE CLUBHOUSE IS ONLY A TEMPORARY ONE AND THEY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO COMPLETE WHAT COULD BE A TOPNOTCH CLUB. ITS WORTH MAKING THE 1.30-40 MIN DRIVE FROM BANGKOK TO GIVE THIS COURSE A TEST AND TRY AND FIGURE OUT THE VERY TOUGH ROLLING GREENS.

I played the white tee of this golf course last year and I got a huge number of score (more than 100). I think some of this golf course's greens are unreasonably unfair to the players. This answers me why the best score ever made by one of greatest Thai professional is 77. The price of food is acceptable but needed to improve flovor a bit. I highly suggest that you make it more friendly to the players.

Must play once!! Most greens are blind from tee ground. Every green has big contours. Many unique up/down hill courses. (Courses still have some bare ground portion.) You must need caddie's guidance on every course,so that communication is very important. Currently soft-open-promotion with 1k bahts. More comfortable facilities must be completed for cooling down yourself before 2hrs drive to BKK after tough play.(Apr/2003:play speed,6hrs)

Excellent golf course by a Thai designer. I am a foreign golfer and I was very impressed with this golf course. Because the club is new, club house facilities and accommodations are not yet luxurious. Overall, WJ has the best potential of any Thai golf course to become a national attraction. Layout that swerve in and out of the forest and the plantation are magnificent!
