Ten of us from Singapore played on Dec 6. Course was crowded and place of play was extremely slow; no attempts were made by marshals to get slow groups to play faster. It was frustrating and affected many golfers. Condition of course - fairways and greens were below expectation. Course design is quite good though - lots of water! I also feel Green Valley is over-rated in this website.

Visited here in May. It is a good golf course in Chiang Mai but really much differences from the green valley in BKK. I actually think the one in BKK is more fun to play. And the green fee is not really attractive. Playing golf in Chiang Mai, I would recommend the Chiang Mai Royal Golf and Country Club or else Chiang Mai Lamphoon Golf Course, More challenging courses with better value

Now it is constently overcrowed with Koreans (playing sixsome !) and consequently everything is going south ... Members have no say and rejected by the management which obviously does not care about anything except quick money ... What a waste of a course which could have been splendid. I heard though that it might be for sale ..

I played this course on a Sunday in early Dec. As we were six balls, we asked to play together and it was granted on condition that we took buggies. I reluctantly agreed cos it cost us a total of 2650 B per pax. When we got onto the blue tees, we were chased off by a fierce female caddy mistress, who in her mixture of Thai and English, told us we could play blue only if everyone could carry a 260-yard fairway bunker. What a condition!!!! So we played white and it was good too bec the blue tees were over-whelming. The second hole I will always remember - a forest in front to carry with a wood, after which there a short landing zone about 190 yds from tee box, then a huge bunker awaits. On the right of the forest, a stream. Real signature hole!

best golf course I have ever played, with every hole a signature hole. Green out the back are not good enough and need improvement

I think that most of the comments already posted must be from Chiangmai Green Valley Golf Club Management. I am a long time member of the club but, I no longer play there. The course could be one of the best in Chiangmai if the club management were to employ competent geenkeeping staff. The condition of the course for most of the year is dreadful, the greens are constantly being cored and sanded, at least 5 or 6 times a year. The fairways are cut too tight and there is never any grass under the ball. The tees are a disgrace; it is difficult to find a level stance on most of them. Many of the members have written letters of complaint but, to no avail; the club management ignores all constructive criticism and continues to build stone walls and waterfalls completely ignoring the condition of the course.
