Played during the weekday. Speed of play was pretty good and caddies kept up well. Would play there more often if price wasn't so high.

Good example of good courses turned bad. Good layout but extremely slow to play. Club House needs urgent renovation, same goes to restaurant, etc. Not worth paying for this...

I have been playing a lot of courses around Bangkok. This is definitely one the best especially after the renovation. My advice: get a card (900 THB, 5 min to make it) and you get a large discount even on the first day already covering the card's cost: 1,700 THB after 11 am on WE (!). Excellent value for price at this rate. Definitely worth it.

Quite a nice course. As it was a weekday, speed of play was at a good pace. Greens are not fast as the review suggests. I've seen much faster greens at other courses.

I am 5 handicap and this course is a great value since the upgrades made in the last year . Caddies excellent , only complaint is expensive food and beer.

A disgrace. Weekend rates are 800B higher for farang. Don't bother - it's not even worth the thai 1700B w/end rate.

Way over priced, maintenance has gone down significantly over the 4 years I've played in the area. Price has increased rediculously and quality has dropped. Course is only so-so for one of the highest priced courses in Bkk

3 Dec afternoon.Seemed quite well organised although we followed a Thai 5 ball which is stated as not being allowed at weekends but the flight in front of them was very slow and no sign of marshals, so 5 hours. Good for plane spotting with new airport so close. Fairways and greens in good condition, water although present on many holes was avoidable thanks to wide fairways. Pars3's a good mix of distances. Locker room quite spacious and colours from 60's art school. Overall pleasantly surprised and would return.

I have played this course for the last 3 years and have watched it evolve. Now I play it at least once a month and with so many others to choose from, that speaks for itself. The course is still undergoing massive upgrades as at Xmas 2012, and a lot is being put into the course. Thana like nearly all other Thai courses allow 5 ball which can affect speed of play but the course is constantly monitored by roving marshals, which has helped a lot. Facilities are great and the only issue I would have is the greens, still in poor conditions. It is a challenging course and a good walk, plenty of bunkers and a decent amount of water to extract a ball or two from your bag if you miss-hit or are having a bad day. Caddies are pleasant and the drink stations around the course have all been rebuilt and are well stocked. The signature hole (13th) is great and the pin never placed for ease of play - a tough par 3. Overall I think Thana City is a great course and good value for money. Recently all their golf carts and buggies have been replaced and clubs for hire are top end Titleist at the pro shop. I would think a trip to Bangkok would not be complete if you missed this course.

I suggest the comments by Robert be removed as they suggest he is the only one allowed to have an opinion(or maybe he works for Thana). How does giving information take away from Thaigolfer when it is easily checked? The prices did rise significantly in December, true and easy to check. The greens are poor, easy to see, still sandy in areas. People at Thana are very nice, but the course is in not worthy of the prices asked. There are many courses on Bangna Trad in far better condition at the same or better price.
