was really looking forwrd to playing here - heard a lot about it. nice course with a few teeth but really not worth the drive and certainly not worth the price, played in a Saturday - course was almost deserted, and rightly so.

Opened the full 18 at the beginning of september and at that time the new back 9 needed time. Well onlyabout 6 weeks on and the course has impreved tremendously. The greens are ttrue and medium quick now so will be lightening once the rain stops!! At the moment there are various deals and promotions which make it very good value but I would imagine once it is more established this club could become quite pricey and exclusive.

First of all: Call before you get there. We called and got an offer of 2050 baht, all included (even caddie fee), when we got there they wanted to charge us 2600! Once we mentioned the info we got by phone, they respected the price without argument. Golf course is in nice condition. Fariways have some weeds that really shouldn't be there, but nothing that will bother your game. Greens are devilish though. You won't get a straight putt no matter where you land. I brought my "a" short game, I didn't have a putt longer than 10 feet all day yet I only had 3 pars, all the rest were bogey after bogey, I kept 2-3 putting all day long. Yes, my putter wasn't there, but a lack of chance to build any confidence, left me unable to convert at all. I don't blame the greens, they are there to make the game challenging, so I suggest to embrace them and keep doing your best. Club house and lockers are modern and second to none. My caddy (90) was great and allow me to play 2 balls in some holes (I was playing on my own). All in all it is a really nice golf course in Khao Yai.

I played on the 10th of this month.Club house, and golf course are really nice, and the course will get better.I don't like so much undulation on the greens, but will be okay until they get fast. The caddies are new so not much help, but they try.The person that designed the practice putting green needs to get his head examined.Going back next week.

Three of us played there today Tuesday, which is Sports Day. We arrived about 7am having pre-booked and when we got to No1 Tee we didnt see any other players. Very impressed with the course, possibly the best that I have played in Thailand and that includes Black Mountain. 1150Baht each, which includes green fee, caddy, caddy tip and a 100Baht voucher to spend in the restaurant. You dont need a buggy, its a pleasure to walk in the lovely cool breeze. Other week days its Green Fee 900baht and w/e Green Fee is 1820Baht. I have just about echoed what has been said previously. The course is not too difficult IF you stay on the fairways, off them the grass is a bit springy

Played at the Rancho for 2 days (2-3 December 2010). Quite impressive. I give the top 3 golf couses you should play at Khao Yai (Toscana, Kirimaya, and Rancho). First I drove in the golf couse, it reminded me the Siam Country Plantation (contour, sand traps, and hilly style). Green and fairway quality is superb (even the speed is not fast for single handicapers). Club House is excelent with very modern style. All facilities are exclusive. Staffs are nice. Only problem now is very limtted number of golf cart. But, you can walk anyway (not too difficult to explore this golf course by leg). Give this golf course a try. I definitely play The Rancho Chanvee Country Club again.
