Great setting, great clubhouse, great food. Course was interesting but a bit mickey mouse in places. Green speed was certainly too fast (great surface though) for the slopes on these greens. Pity about that and all the blind shots because this could have been one of the best. Also a pity about all the worn areas of fairway and rough where all the carts drive - should have used tougher grass if you want to drive on the fairways. This is the same grass as Amata but they have cart paths only policy. You are going to have to do the same here! Look forward to playing again though.

I've visited only about 7-8 different golf courses in Thailand, so, I am not in good position to say where this golf course ranks but it is indeed a very nice golf course with excellent maintenance. The hilly layout is something you can not expect with golf courses nearby Bangkok. In my opinion, the difficulty is moderate (12 handicap) with great fairway and green condition. My caddie was very professional and helpful. The speed of playing was pretty ok even though I played Saturday morning. The club house and facility is A class. The food is very good too. Only negative experience for me was due to the head pro. He was very rude and unaccomodating telling me I could not play unless I had booked even though I told him repeatedly I had called and been told no need for book if I was planning to come alone. It was overall a very pleasant golfing experience and the value is excellent - summer promotion at THB1,500 for green fee regardless of weekdays/weekends.

Still the best course in Thailand, best area, best design, excellent maintenance. But the problem now is the service of staff. Only one course that the marshall told me to decrease my speed play. I'm not sure that the front group are 'Big Name' or not but they made my group and more than 5 groups behind had a big traffic jam ! Also the caddies are not the same as last time I played here. They concern about the course more than the customer, just like they're afraid for the punishment. This also made the speed of play too slow. Some caddy never concern for a lost ball, never try to find the lost ball. And the last are the maintenance staff, they work like there are no customers in the course. I need to play here again on my next visit at Huahin.

I went to play with my old friends on June 26, 2010. Overall condition was very impressive. Layout is beautiful and challenging. Tips for a golfer: fast green even it doesn't seem to be, have faith in your swing due to many blind shots, have patience as this is the hillside course but management allows golfer not to use a cart. Tips for the course: please force everyone to use cart as this is the hillside course and not easy to walk (improve play speed). For this course, I recommend everyone to use cart. I agree that caddy should drive for us in regards to safety (we are not familiar with the course). One of my friends decided to walk, then changed his mind to rent a cart starting from hole 10. Instead of charging my friend half price as the other courses (18 holes = 600 Baht), they charged my friend for the 2nd half at 400! For the money, it's not a problem, but why? Overall, I like it. It refreshed my golf Instinct. I will definitely go back and play again in the future. Have a good score for you all.

Our first time in Thailand and the first golf course we played (Feb 29, 2008). The course was in an excellent condition, the greens rapid and treacherous! We were picked up from our hotel in Hua Hin and at arrival the caddies were waiting (all female). A good caddy is a big plus with those greens. My caddy (Mae) was adorable and knew the greens. The course has a lot of hazards, large and well placed bunkers and water hazards. Quiet a technical course. In stead of taking a buggy we walked which is a little excersice as the course has nice sloping fairways. On 6 holes youll find a kiosk offering a little bite and drinks which youll need! The Clubhouse is an absolute diamond. It has beautiful views from all sides as it is open; meaning no windows and a lovely breeze helps you to relax after your game. A television broadcasting live Golf keeps you up to date. The restaurant offers a range of Thai and European dishes with a very kind and correct staff serving. The Pro Shop is well equipped; shopping is a must (which we did). The locker room is a heaven of luxury with beautiful showers in marble. As the course beat me on Friday, we came back again on Sunday (March 2nd), again the course was too strong and my score too high. We will definitely play Black Mountain again. Janine Oelrich hcp 6.

I play this course on 13th feb. It is the best course in Hua Hin area by far. My caddy was good, the greens was very fast in afternoon, but in very good conditions. Give this course one more year and it will be one of the best course in Thailand. Service and food in the restaurant was very good aswell. I will be back soon. Haakan

This is without a doubt the best golf course we've played during our recent stay in Hua Hin. We even had an invited "golfer" in the form of a green snake passing through the buggy track. Heck of an experience! We'll spread the news around.

The course was OK, but they are simple Layout, Caddy still no skill, but I think the price so high while I wait for each hole too long, not worth, may be will not come again

Played there this last weekend. Walked all 18 - a lot more hilly than the usual converted paddy field of course, but ok if a little slow.. Good condition, although some bunkers are washed out due to their newness. Greens are fast, but not excessively so - overall the course is very playable. The blind shots are more 'semi' blind and the free course planner helps out - no major hidden surprises. Some very new caddies, as can be expected, buggies are one to a golfer and can be driven on fairways (at present caddies only can drive, as they are ware of where is best to go to protect the course - later should be no problem, cart paths are only around tees and greens). Housing development is also ongoing, not too obstrusive though. Good marshals too - were able to get a 2 ball and a single thru our 4 ball easily and in a friendly manner - played on a saturday and it wasn't busy. The tee time spacing also should help, as long as they continue with it..... At the planned 4000bht (or maybe 5000 after rainy season!) this course will not be 'good value' obviously - the course itself is in no way 'worth' that much, but i imagine the idea is if you do choose to play there, you're paying for the peace and space to either play quickly without holdups or take your time and fit in with the ample spacing between groups. Will be interesting to see if it works out. Worth a visit now before the price increase, anyway!
