Stolen golf sets at Rachakram Golf Golf clubs are stolen at a golf course? Sounds incredible but it can happen. This occurred on Saturday 14 June 2008 at Rachakram Golf Club in Ayudhya. The clubs were stolen after the completion of an early round, which I played with two friends. After the 18th hole, I rode back to my car on the buggy. One of my friends, an expatriate, followed behind in his buggy. We had come to the golf course together in my car. In drive a Nissan Teana, which needs an electronic key card to open to doors or trunk. To open the trunk you have to stand right next to the truck with key card in hand and press a button located above the license plate. This is what I did to open the trunk. My caddie, a woman, placed my bag in the trunk. My friends caddie then put his clubs in the trunk and appeared as if he closed the trunk. Thinking that everything was in order, we drove our buggies to the clubhouse for a shower and lunch. After lunch, at about 2 pm, we drove off to Bangkok and went for a foot massage, parking right in front of the spa that had a security guard overseeing parking space for its customers. We are regulars at this spa and the guard is familiar to us. After the massage, I dropped off my friend at his condo in Thonglor at about 4 pm. As I parked I opened the trunk from inside the car. But when my friend opened the trunk, both golf sets were missing. Could the golf clubs been stolen at the spa? My car was parked right in front of the spas security guard and he reported that no one had approached the car. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the trunk of the Nissan Teana cannot be opened unless you press the button above the license plate with the key card on you. I called Rachakram Golf Club and asked to speak to the person in charge. A lady, who said her name was Khun Nat, took the call. I explained the situation to her and asked her to investigate. Khun Nat said she would call back. She did call back. She identified the two caddies and said she spoken to them adding that they both reported nothing unusual. Khun Nat suggested that I speak to my caddie. I agreed. My caddie, the woman, said she placed my bag in the trunk (correct). Then she said that my friends caddie placed his bag in the trunk (correct again). But then she said, my friend closed the trunk (not correct). My friend did not close the trunk, as he was busy collecting his things in the buggy. His caddie, a young man, was the last person near the trunk. We believe that this caddie acted as if he closed the trunk but in fact did not. We believe that between the time we went to the clubhouse for showers and lunch and the time we left for Bangkok, the golf bags were taken out of the trunk. Since I could not agree with Khun Nat and the caddies on this point, I asked for the phone number of the owner of Rachakram Golf Course. Khun Nat said she would call the owner and ask for permission. She called back saying that the owner did not want to give away his phone number. Khun Nat said she was given authority to deal with the matter. In hindsight, I admit that my friend and I should have closed the trunk ourselves. But then how many times have we played golf and allowed caddies in other courses to put the bags and close the trunk of the car at the end of each round? Needless to say that we will never go back to Rachakram Golf Club ever again. But the story is not over. I will still try to get the phone number of the owner and speak to him. I am sending you this email to be wary of what could happen to you at Rachakram Golf Club.

I played at this colf course on Aug 13. The overall condition of the course is fair. Fairways are quite in good condition as also the greens. But the managements should consider not only the condition or the layout of the course, they must also consider the "well golf course management" practices. They need to be more professional on this matter. On that day our group was the 5th group to be waiting to tee of on the 4th hole, par 3. There was no call-hole even there were many groups waiting. The course's marshall was useless on this kind of the situation. Also the quality of the caddies reflects the quality of the management. I felt like they are a good bag carrier, not a caddie. I understood the they are new but a few simple things such as cleaning the ball before putting, take the flag out when balls are on the green, they still didn't do it properly. The caddie fee is the same as other golf courses but service we received was not worth that much. The other thing that I noticed, there were several times that some group hit their tee shot off the tee while the group in front of them was still in the middle of fairway, which I have never seen this at the well-managed golf courses. So the course manager should seriously think about these issues not just how well the course is and remember that there are several good golf courses around with a better management and fair pricing. Overall, this course condition is good but a 1,500 green fee + 280 caddie is not worth to go again.

I have played this course 3 times in the past month. It is great for late afternoon early evening play. The layout is great and there are some really good holes. The value for money is also there. I will be a regular here.

Played the course on 19 August. Was in decent shape. Played fairly easy and wasn't busy as a big tournament just finished. Worth it for the money at 1300 after noon.

We played there on a Saturday morning, 18 holes in about 5 hrs. Facilities are new and good. Fairways and greens in good condition. Only inconvenient for a "Varang"is that almost no one speaks any English. Even basic quests as asking for the distance get not understood. Caddies not always competent, but nice

I just came back from this course today and I can assure you that your money will not be worth because of the unacceptable service that include GM of the golf course and the receptionists. Mark this day, March 26, 2008, that it will be my last day at that course. I booked that course at 3 o'clock and after 2 hole there was rain and of course thunders which I can count up to 20 of them while I am in the course. So, after I saw a lot of them I stopped at third shot of the hole 3 par 5 and I went up to the club house. Also, the rain that I am talking about is almost a storm scale. After I am in the club house, my mom talked to the receptionist and she said there was no rain!!! Please came back and finish the rest, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyUMB7AC7Lk (Video of the course, It is not raining. Yeah, right). Come on!! who could play in such condition and she also told my mom that I will not going to receive anything if I did not finish the course. Please, do not go to such unfair course like this. I will appreciate if you go to others instead like Ayuthaya golf club. If anyone suspicious about the details, you can contact me at my e-mail.
